Group Tasks FG on Girl-child Education

A group of female professionals in Nigeria has called on the federal government not to relent in it’s efforts to ensure that all hindrances on the path of adequate education for girls are removed.

This was stated at the orientation workshop for students of Government Science School Pyakasa, Abuja by Adija Memorial Foundation.
In celebration of the International Day for the Girl Child 2022, which takes place every year on October 11, with this year’s theme of “Our Time is now – Our Rights and Future,” the group highlighted the power of girls and the barriers they face, as well as the importance of educating girls to enable them to achieve their potential.

In her opening remark, the Founder of Adija Memorial Foundation, Dr Maimuna Bashir Tukur, noted that “Girls should be encouraged to be in leadership roles, harness their potential and we need to empower these girls in achieving their dreams. If you educate a girl, you educate the world and in the long run it would boost the economic growth.”

During the speech presentation by several female professionals in various fields, the participants encouraged the girls to be agents of change, break barriers and show the world that educating a girl child is the future of every nation.
